Package: git-dpm Version: 0.9.1-1 Severity: minor git-dpm dch generates a merge commit that merges patched into debian, and generates a commit message for this merge commit based on the entries which are added to the changelog during the dch operation. The generated commit message does not comply with the format git expects for a commit mesage, namely a one-line summary, usually 50 characters or less, followed by a blank line and then the rest of the commit message.
I would propose that git-dpm dch should generate a commit message with summary line similar to 'merge patched into debian', and put the actual changes in the body of the commit. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.14-2-amd64 (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages git-dpm depends on: ii dpkg-dev 1.17.21 ii git 1:2.1.3-1 Versions of packages git-dpm recommends: ii bzip2 1.0.6-7 ii devscripts 2.14.10 ii sensible-utils 0.0.9 ii xz-utils 5.1.1alpha+20120614-2 Versions of packages git-dpm suggests: ii pristine-tar 1.32 pn sharutils <none> -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
