Please unblock package matplotlib 1.4 series is the latest release of mpl, and it will be the one upstream will support during Jessie lifecycle. It has been in Debian since Sept (in experimental) and it would have made the cut for the freeze if not for some uploads for upstream bugfixes and build system deadlock fixes. This version is built on all the buildd except mips, but that arch has a long queue, with big packages still to build before mpl.
