Could you please retest it with the current release in jessie/sid?
I'm sorry to say that I'm unable even to run Gnome session using fglrx
in jessie amd64 2014-11-01 (Debian Installer 7.7 Beta 2).
The first problem was bug #745901, but after using its workaround
provided in #745901 message#41, bug #767673 arose. So re-testing the
original scenario seems impossible for me for now.
The most I can say for now is as follows:
1. Under xfce4 amdcccle works fine, and according to LD_DEBUG=files, no
libgtk*.so is involved under a fresh jessie install as of 2014-11-01.
2. Under an older jessie install, again with xfce4, fglrx-control
(1:14.3~beta1.0-1), libgtk2.0-common (2.24.23-1), libgtk-3-common
(3.12.0-4), libqtcore4 (4:4.8.5+git242-g0315971+dfsg-2), amdcccle again
works fine. In this case, libgtk is still involved:
file=libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 [0]; dynamically loaded by
/usr/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/libQtCore.so.4 [0]
