Package: snmpd
Version: 5.7.2.1~dfsg-7
Followup-For: Bug #684721

Dear Maintainer,

Sadly, four years after being reported in bug #559109 this issue is still
present.
To reiterate, the only known workaround so far is to change the logging level.
Per bug #559109:

> This is fixed in the latest snmpd. The problem is, snmpd reports *all* errors
> to
> syslog, because of /etc/defaults/snmpd. To log only up to info level, and not
> debug,
> change these to lines as follows:
>
> SNMPDOPTS='-LS6d -Lf /dev/null -u snmp -g snmp -I -smux -p /var/run/snmpd.pid'
> TRAPDOPTS='-LS6d -p /var/run/snmptrapd.pid'
