I noticed the same behavior, that I got a mail every hour, even though I disabled it in /etc/default/rsnapshot, because the script exited with 1. This is really a little annoying.
I can confirm that it no longer sends those mails, when the script is exiting with "|| exit 0". Regards, Reiner
