Package: spamassassin Version: 3.4.0-3 Severity: normal If a sysadmin running Wheezy has configured spamd not to start, the upgrade to Jessie (and systemd) will disregard this and enable the service. Please put a warning in the spamassassin NEWS.Debian.gz file so that this is brought to the attention of admins by apt-listchanges.
Alternatively, the spamassassin installation scripts could read /etc/default/spamassassin and disable the spamd service if required. Even better would be if the unwanted daemon was in a separate package that could simply be left uninstalled in the first place, but presumably there's zero chance of anything like that getting in during the freeze. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (50, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Kernel: Linux 3.17-1-686-pae (SMP w/1 CPU core) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages spamassassin depends on: ii adduser 3.113+nmu3 ii init-system-helpers 1.21 pn libarchive-tar-perl <none> ii libhtml-parser-perl 3.71-1+b2 ii libnet-dns-perl 0.80-1 ii libnetaddr-ip-perl 4.075+dfsg-1+b1 ii libsocket6-perl 0.25-1+b1 ii libsys-hostname-long-perl 1.4-3 ii libwww-perl 6.08-1 ii perl 5.20.1-1 ii perl-modules [libio-zlib-perl] 5.20.1-1 Versions of packages spamassassin recommends: ii gnupg 1.4.18-4 ii libio-socket-inet6-perl 2.72-1 ii libmail-spf-perl 2.9.0-3 ii perl [libsys-syslog-perl] 5.20.1-1 ii sa-compile 3.4.0-3 ii spamc 3.4.0-3 Versions of packages spamassassin suggests: pn libdbi-perl <none> ii libio-socket-ssl-perl 1.998-1 pn libmail-dkim-perl <none> ii perl [libcompress-zlib-perl] 5.20.1-1 pn pyzor <none> pn razor <none> -- no debconf information -- JBR with qualifications in linguistics, experience as a Debian sysadmin, and probably no clue about this particular package -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
