I don't have access to an iBook to test this. Does this happen even if ncpd is
not running ?
What happens if you do dpkg --unpack plptools_0.14-2_{ibook_architecture}.deb
and then manually copy the libplp into /usr/lib - does this affect the
keyboard ?
If you then copy ncpd into /usr/sbin - does that affect the keyboard ?
If you then run ncpd ?
