Package: kexec-tools
Version: 1:2.0.7-3
Severity: important
Dear Maintainer,
* What led up to the situation?
- Updating kexec-tools from 2.0.4-1_amd64 to 2.0.7-3_amd64
- interactive shutdown by the KDE menu.
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
* What was the outcome of this action?
Either shutdown by KDE menu
or on virtual terminal 1 as root a "shutdown -h now"
leads to a kexec reboot (with console message: Starting new kernel).
* What outcome did you expect instead?
System shuts down and powers off.
Downgrading to old version 2.0.4-1 did not help.
Successful workaround was "dpkg --purge kexec-tools".
Tried the same in a QEmu virtual machine were it is visible too
by installing version 2.0.7-3 without upgrade.
Can someone else reproduce this issue?
What other information I should provied?
