I think this would break Multi-Arch co-installability of libruby2.1
(a file that differs between architectures gets installed in the
same location on different architectures).

If you could sort this out I'd likely apply your patch.

Plus, two nitpicks:
1.: there's a typo in your commit message.
2.: the tap file talks about 2.0 - did you verify it works well for
2.1?
