Package: gramps Version: 4.1.0~dfsg-1 Severity: normal Dear Maintainer,
Hello Ross, I have problems importing GEDCOM files which have been exported from gramps. If I manually after export add the BOM to the beginning of the file (0xEF 0xBB 0xBF), it works, but when the BOM is not present, the special symbols get corrupted. I don't know yet if the problem is related to my setup only, or if it is general. I will try to narrow it down further. Reproduction steps: 1. Export a familiy to GEDCOM which contains "special" characters from gramps 2. Make a new family and import the GEDCOM file that was exported.
