I just felt it was sad to loose this functionality.

Yeah sure,.. but the world won't end now for me... as I said maildrop
would be really nice, but not offering to mark mails read (important,
etc.) has been a major deficiency of it for years... for me that used to
be a showstopper and I just didn't migrate so far, since I was too lazy
to touch the system.

I vaguely remember having talked about this with Sam before, and IIRC he
either wanted everything handled completely differently  or  tended to
courier-auth should be the only thing anyway.

Well I can ask him again an CC him,... but I guess to the original bug
where the patch was merged, since this bug is about another issue.
