Unfortunately I cannot commit to yet another project, I already want to get rid of some of the current burden because I stopped being effective in several fronts lately... I added you explicitly in CC because I didn't know whether you were receiving these bug reports (the primary maintainer is Debian Games Team), and if you planned to do something about this bug report. Just to be explicit, are you willing to do it (the second option, just a new revision) for Jessie? Or you don't plan to upload new revisions for the time being?
