Indeed, this is really a bug in the Debugger plugin. I submitted a patch upstream to fix the issue, see https://github.com/geany/geany-plugins/pull/156 As this is marked Grave (quite correctly) and will lead for geany-pludins to be dropped from Jessie altogether if not fixed, I suggest to wait a bit to see what the author answers, and apply a patch to fix this no matter what -- or drop Debugger from geany-plugins, but that would be some kind of a regression, especially as a quick and less intrusive (yet less sensible) fix is possible (see the message in the above link).
