If I set my timezone to Amerika/New York, the hwclock jumps forward for +4 hours on each boot. This doesn't trigger the fsck error though. So maybe you need to test this you need to set this to a timezone which is UTC+X -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
