Package: aptitude Version: 0.6.11-1 Severity: wishlist Here we observe the user asks aptitude to do something and aptitude (seemingly instead) decides to do something unrelated:
# aptitude forbid-version chromium The following packages will be REMOVED: libsrtp0{pu} 0 packages upgraded, 0 newly installed, 1 to remove and 2 not upgraded. Need to get 0 B of archives. After unpacking 127 kB will be freed. Do you want to continue? [Y/n/?] (Reading database ... 141160 files and directories currently installed.) Removing libsrtp0 (1.4.5~20130609~dfsg-1) ... Purging configuration files for libsrtp0 (1.4.5~20130609~dfsg-1) ... Processing triggers for libc-bin (2.19-11) ... # Yes it is pleasant that aptitude remembers to take out the trash on the way to the grocery store, but mom just sees him leaving the house with the trash bucket, no saying a word about if he heard her instructions about going to the grocery store. Well it turns out he did in face go to the grocery store, but one must use aptitude search chromium to confirm it. Also many messages are seen, but none about what we wanted aptitude to do in the first place. -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
