A lot of things in Samba involve filenames; I don't see why the two would be
related.

That bug in bugzilla happens deep inside of the filesharing code and involves
invalid codepoints. The traceback you're getting is completely different.

While I agree it would be good to upload 4.1.12, I haven't seen anything to
indicate it will help resolve this particular bug.
