Dear Maintainer,
Occasionally, input stops working, i.e. keyboard and mouse fail to control the
application.
* What led up to the situation?
All incidents so far were discovered when running Minecraft in fullscreen mode.
So far, other kinds of use on the same account have not triggered the problem
(running xbmc, playing YouTube videos in Chromium, running Google Apps in
Chromium or scanning/printing images in the Gimp).
Running the same application (Minecraft) on other desktops (e.g. gnome-shell)
do not cause the problem.
On other systems, or on the same system on another account, where Minecraft is
not in use, we have never encountered this problem with the same version of
cinnamon (three different systems, including the one experiencing the problem
during Minecraft play).
* What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
ineffective)?
If we switch to a console session and "killall -HUP cinnamon", then switch back
to the desktop, the desktop is automatically restarted. No other measures to try
to correct the problem are effective (alt-tab won't switch to another window,
and clicking on the panel has no effect). But this corrective action always
fixes
the problem.
* What was the outcome of this action?
When cinnamon finishes restarting, all input (both keyboard and mouse) works
again.
