That's wrong.

Option "username= " is for use with pam_mount only. This is
documented in the mount.davfs manpage. Don't misuse it for anything
else.

The two ways are:

- store the password in the secrets file which must be readable
  by the owner of the file only.

- enter the password on the command line when asked for by davfs2 and
  it will not be displayed.
