The PyOperators package defines operators and solvers for high-performance computing. These operators are multi-dimensional functions with optimised and controlled memory management. If linear, they behave like matrices with a sparse storage footprint. Compared to the existing linop package already available in Debian, this package provides more flexibility and tools for finer control of the behaviour of abstract mathematical operators. Both the linop and pyoperators packages should happily co-exist, the former providing a straightforward abstraction for quick prototyping, whilst the latter offers more advanced features such as memory management, operator properties, clever composition, etc...
