Using a shared library also does not solve this problem, as libusbip is licenced under GPLv2, not any version of LGPL.
Sorry, did not know that is a problem. The vendor told me that a shared library would be ok. Obviously he is wrong.
I have managed to recompile the package with the option"--disable-shared" removed. This would solve the problem. The vendor provides binaries for each distribution and architecture.As the sole purpose of this request is apparently to aid in copyright infringement, I am closing this bug.
