Followup-For: Bug #319366

This bug is solved trivially, as explained in the ubuntu bug report:

https://launchpad.net/distros/ubuntu/+source/vnc4/+bug/4498

Just renaming (or symlinking) vnc.so to libvnc.so  solves the problem.
I have tried this out in debian and it works.
