Package: gnome-icon-theme Version: 3.12.0-1 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer,
currently it's not possible to install i386 packages that depend on gnome-icon-theme in amd64 Debian. This means it's impossible to install many i386 GUI applications. For example, trying to install simple-scan:i386 results in the following error message from aptitude: * simple-scan:i386 depends on gnome-icon-theme:i386 [UNAVAILABLE] Discussing the issue in OFTC IRC (#debian) I was pointed to "Multi-Arch: foreign" as a possible solution. I rebuilt gnome-icon-theme with "Multi-Arch: foreign" locally and it solved the issue for me. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers unstable APT policy: (500, 'unstable'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.17.0-rc3bug (SMP w/4 CPU cores; PREEMPT) Locale: LANG=en_US.utf8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.utf8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages gnome-icon-theme depends on: ii hicolor-icon-theme 0.13-1 ii libgtk-3-bin 3.12.2-3+b1 ii librsvg2-common 2.40.3-2 gnome-icon-theme recommends no packages. gnome-icon-theme suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
