Package: mazeofgalious Version: 0.62-1 Severity: serious Justification: violates section "2.3 Copyright considerations" of the debian policy
The first thing the game does after being started is to display a spash screen with the Konami name and logo: /usr/share/games/mazeofgalious/graphics/naramura/konami.pcx After that the main screen apears claiming that the game is from konami: /usr/share/games/mazeofgalious/graphics/naramura/start.pcx Debian is not Konami and Debian has not been given permission by Konami to use their name and logo. I want to point out, that the current maintainer has been informed at the ITP [0] that it might not be a good idea to package the game. It's not clear why it is necessary to push it, by verbosely including Konami's trademarks in the package. In case this happened consciously it is unclear how the maintainer is able to do this and at the same time be aware of Debian's most basic principles. *t [0] http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=301527 -- System Information: Debian Release: testing/unstable APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing'), (500, 'stable'), (50, 'unstable') Architecture: i386 (i686) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Kernel: Linux 2.4.22 Locale: LANG=C, LC_CTYPE=C (charmap=ANSI_X3.4-1968) Versions of packages mazeofgalious depends on: ii libc6 2.3.5-8 GNU C Library: Shared libraries an hi libgcc1 1:4.0.2-4 GCC support library ii libsdl-image1.2 1.2.4-1 image loading library for Simple D ii libsdl-mixer1.2 1.2.6-1.1 mixer library for Simple DirectMed ii libsdl-sound1.2 1.0.1-9 Decoder of several sound file form ii libsdl1.2debian 1.2.9-0.0 Simple DirectMedia Layer ii libstdc++6 4.0.2-4 The GNU Standard C++ Library v3 ii mazeofgalious-data 0.62-1 The Maze of Galious mazeofgalious recommends no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [EMAIL PROTECTED] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
