Hi, the package, as uploaded to unstable, can in fact be compiled and run on Wheezy without changes. I'm not familiar with backports, but by quickly reading the "Contribute" page[1] I get the impression maintaining a backport is additional ongoing work. Do you think it would be worth it, seeing as we're supposedly just a few months away from the next stable release? Cheers.
