Hi all,

Thanks Matthias for the feedback.

Some side notes: regarding not being light (the workaround), the systems feel
very fast: with (virtually) equal capabilities of the regular Gnome
installation, the LXDE version (built on top of regular Debian 7.6) boots a
staggering 50% faster than the gnome gui in some 5 year old laptops (I actually
clocked that in 2 different samples); it also feels (and is) MUCH faster during
operation (open programs, navigating, etc), and it gives me the capability to
put links on the desktop. I love it! My ideal machine would have the LXDE
desktop with most of the gnome applications working in the background (gnome is
very solid, stable and reliable, but the desktop GUI I would pass on).

Cheers,

Jamil

gnome-packagekit 3.4.2-2

Hi!
Please keep the bug in the loop, so others can see the comments as well (just

No, it definitively doesn't :) But it's also not exactly lightweight, so this
will likely not become a default setting for LXDE/LXQt.
