As ppc64el is now in sid, I'd be happy to help fixing this bug, if useful also by an NMU. Unless there is a reason why not I intend to upload the package within the next days. On that occasion I would also update the symbols for other architectures pending in the bts as well as #682771 (respect DEB_BUILD_OPTIONS nocheck).
