I'm afraid that's a negative, at least on my side - systemd-shim is at the suggested version:
||/ Name Version Architecture Description +++-===============================-====================-====================-==================================================================== ii systemd-shim 7-3 amd64 shim for systemd This didn't solve it. I did notice a newer version in experimental, so I updated the package: ||/ Name Version Architecture Description +++-===============================-====================-====================-==================================================================== ii systemd-shim 7-3exp1 amd64 shim for systemd ... but gdm3 still shows no login options, so I'm still starting my DE via "startx" at the moment. The network-manager permissions issue has been "fixed" with a workaround: [alver@Crusoe ~]$ sudo cat /etc/polkit-1/localauthority/50-local.d/org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.pkla [nm-applet] Identity=unix-group:netdev Action=org.freedesktop.NetworkManager.* ResultAny=yes ResultInactive=no ResultActive=yes I'd prefer an actual root cause fix, tho.
