Package: man-db Version: 2.6.7.1-1 Severity: normal At DebConf, Paul Wise drew my attention to https://wiki.debian.org/ReproducibleInstalls, which has a good deal of noise from man-db's database files. These discrepancies are probably simply due to the database modification time being stored as a key/value pair in the database itself, which, come to think of it, is a perplexing design decision (it predates my involvement, and I'd never really had occasion to consider it previously).
We should switch to just using the mtime of the database files themselves. As a small bonus, this would make it relatively easy to use higher-precision timestamps. I've started work on this upstream. -- Colin Watson [cjwat...@debian.org] -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe". Trouble?
