Package: darcs Version: 1.0.1-1 Severity: minor The HTML manual for darcs, /usr/share/doc/darcs/manual/index.html, as currently included in Debian has apparently been generated by a broken tex4ht installation. If you go down the man to the theory of patches portion (don't tell me I am the 1st one to attempt to read it!), you will see that the formulae are for some reasons included as much larger images than needed, mostly blank with the actual formulae somewhere down the blank area.
tex4ht, as currently installed by default in Debian sarge, is known to cause the problem. A known workaround (see tex4ht bug #229569) is to tweak /etc/tex4ht/tex4ht.env to use Gdvipng %%1 -o %%3.png -pp %%2 -q -D123 -bd 2 -Ttight -fg "rgb 0.0 0.0 0.0" -bg"Transparent" Gmv %%3.png %%3 instead of the default G scripts (just prefix the default ones with a space if you want to retain them there) on the machine where the manual is built. This requires the package dvipng to be installed.
