When do you plan to upload 1.4.4 to unstable? I want to get cmake 3.0 into jessie well before the freeze starts as it's used by quite a number of packages. If preparing 1.4.4 takes longer maybe an upload with just that fix would be an option? I can also prepare an NMU if you want.
