Package: tar
Version: 1.27.1-2
Severity: normal

Dear Maintainer,

Bug #319635 (tar: Defalt location of 'rmt' executable is incorrect)
appears to have recurred. The bug was fixed in 1.15.1-3, and was also
not present in 1.26+dfsg-0.1 (from stable). However, in 1.27.1-2 tar is
attempting to use /usr/lib/tar/rmt when given a filename with a colon:

$ tar tf remote-host:foo.tar
bash: /usr/lib/tar/rmt: No such file or directory
tar: remote-host\:foo.tar: Cannot open: Input/output error
tar: Error is not recoverable: exiting now
$

A cursory examination of the source code and documentation suggests that
tar should be configured with --with-rmt=/etc/rmt specified.

Thanks.
