I'd be thankful if we could get the fix earlier than the transition (especially as there is something to be done to get the packages depending on this one to be built). If it would be ok for you I could upload an NMU just fixing this issue (which of course would be overwritten as soon as you upload a higher version into unstable). Would that be possible?
