The current Debian 7 kernel only has the 4.2.220 version of the
be2net driver:

Recently we had a server drop off the network (but still responsive
at the console) with the following message being output:

While the advisory says the issue is in 4.1.450.7-2 (or earlier), it seems
to still be present in 4.2.220. Regardless, they recommend going to
4.2.389 or newer.
I'd like to request that '389 be pulled into the 3.2 kernel, and if possible
the updated kernel also be brought into squeeze-backports.
