The rescan-scsi-bus.sh originated from Kurt Garloff. But I do see the same script being shipped by Danny in sg3-utils repo under scripts/ along with a bunch of other scripts.

And the other reason was that scsitools package was shipping a rescan-scsi-bus file, installing it under /sbin/

I guess the best start would be to ship it as script/ folder under /u/s/d/sg3-utils/scripts ?? If, later, people like to see those scripts readily under /sbin, we can change that.
