Hi,
I think this is the same basic issue, so reopening rather than filing
a new bug. The LaTeX-export feature of org-mode doesn't currently work
even if all Recommends and Suggests packages are installed. I had to
install two additional packages, which I think should therefore probably
be in Suggests:
1. texlive-latex-extra. Unless I'm entirely misreading, it doesn't look
like this package is really suggested, even though the changelog for the
upload that closed this bug said, "Add a Suggests:texlive-latex-extra".
2. texlive-fonts-recommended. The default org-mode LaTeX export sticks
\usepackage{marvosym} in the preamble, which isn't shipped in the base
LaTeX packages. This is a pretty large package unfortunately. Upstream
justifies the dependency by citing handling of the Euro symbol
(http://orgmode.org/worg/org-dependencies.html).
