Package: cups Version: 1.7.5-1 Severity: normal A phantom printer appears in the printer list of my GUI applications e.g. in evince and gimp and iceweasel, but curiously not in LibreOffice or karbon or konquerer.
I call it "phantom" because it does not appear in the admin printer list, not in Gnome settings, nor in http://localhost:631/admin/. It is not listed in the "Discovered Network Printers" of http://localhost:631/admin/. Nor does this printer appear at the command line (lpstat -v or lpstat -a). The name of the phantom printer does match one which I have had configured in the past, but later removed. I can't find any current reference to it in config files at /etc/cups or /var/spool. It's quite annoying since if it "doesn't exist", then I can't remove it. If it is the ghost of that old printer, why is it still haunting me? Any clues? Since KDE apps don't seem to be affected, could it be a problem in Gnome/GTK3?
