Package: awesome Version: 3.5.5-1 Severity: normal It finally annoyed be enough to start whining ;)
whenever I switch display (pure xrandr call) from laptop's LVDS (1600x900) to external display (1920x1200) gkrellm and xfce4-pannel, while maintaining horizontal position, jump up so their bottoms gets aligned. Here is how it looked originally: http://www.onerussian.com/tmp/gkrellShoot_08-20-14_103547.png and here how after the change of resolution http://www.onerussian.com/tmp/gkrellShoot_08-20-14_103624.png Going back from external bigger screen to smaller laptop -- seems to be the same story (although I think I saw it not happening). May be related: another pain is to "dock" gkrellm window on the left so that work area for automated windows layouting gets "contracted" a bit more from originally reserved according to the width of the xfce4-pannel which seems to be a few tens of pixels naroower than gkrellm window. while I move gkrellm window from the left, awesome seems at some point narrows working area but then expands it back to match the width of xfce4 pannel. At times I do manage to catch that golden spot but it is "too tricky" ;) -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (900, 'testing'), (600, 'unstable'), (300, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.14-2-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/bash Versions of packages awesome depends on: ii dbus-x11 1.8.4-1 ii gir1.2-freedesktop 1.40.0-2 ii gir1.2-pango-1.0 1.36.3-1 ii libc6 2.19-1 ii libcairo2 1.12.16-2 ii libdbus-1-3 1.8.4-1 ii libgdk-pixbuf2.0-0 2.30.7-1 ii libglib2.0-0 2.40.0-3 ii liblua5.1-0 5.1.5-5 ii libstartup-notification0 0.12-3 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.2-2 ii libxcb-cursor0 0.1.1-3 ii libxcb-icccm4 0.4.1-1 ii libxcb-keysyms1 0.3.9-1 ii libxcb-randr0 1.10-3 ii libxcb-render0 1.10-3 ii libxcb-shape0 1.10-3 ii libxcb-util0 0.3.8-2 ii libxcb-xinerama0 1.10-3 ii libxcb-xtest0 1.10-3 ii libxcb1 1.10-3 ii libxdg-basedir1 1.2.0-1 ii lua-lgi 0.7.2-1 ii menu 2.1.46 Versions of packages awesome recommends: ii feh 2.12-1 ii rlwrap 0.37-5 ii x11-xserver-utils 7.7+2 awesome suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to [email protected] with a subject of "unsubscribe".
