   An awfully thin difference, indeed.  If every other contributor uses his man 
pages (or other software components) as a soapbox, things will eventually 
degenerate.  For the sake of universal goodwill, I ask you one last time to 
consider rewriting the paragraph in a more neutral tone.  There is nothing 
wrong in expressing your preference for the power-of-two interpretation of 
metric prefixes, but you need not resort to name-calling.

   As for "politically correct", I think it's just inaccurate.  The arguments 
for keeping a single meaning for the metric prefixes aren't political, they are 
quite the opposite.  Politics delights in scrambling the meaning of words, 
while scientists and engineers insist on agreed-upon definitions and 
terminology before opening any kind of debate.
