Package: libsane Version: 1.0.16-5 Severity: important Firstly I can confirm the problem with udev and coldplug scripts failing to set permissions correctly; unplugging and then replugging works - bug #339669. However, even with permissions apparently set correctly, scanimage is unable to access the scanner, although as root (!) there is no problem:
