I'm going to re-assign this to the postgresql-commons package since that is the package shipping the /etc/init.d/postgresql SysV init script. Since postgresql-common also ships a native systemd .service file, this might just be a packaging error. The postgresql-common package does not depend on init-system-helpers, which might suggest that it doesn't properly enable the service upon installation. -- Why is it that all of the instruments seeking intelligent life in the universe are pointed away from Earth?
