While I understand that the default port is 9150 because that is what the Tor Browser Bundle provides, the Tor Browser Bundle is not in Debian, and as far as I know is not even apt-get'able.
There are two good ways that this could be handled: 1. default to port 9050 on GNU/Linux only 2. change default to 9050 in a patch included in the Debian package I don't know what is common on other GNU/Linux distros, if tor is not packaged there, then the second approach makes more sense. Which reminds me: torbirdy should also "Depends: tor" so that tor is automatically installed when people install torbirdy. .hc
