Package: openjdk-7-jdk Version: 7u65-2.5.1-4 Severity: wishlist Dear Maintainer,
as it's stated in changelog.Debian, the 'libxt-dev' dependency was added in openjdk-6 (6b11-5): * openjdk-6-jdk: Recommend libxt-dev (jawt_md.h header includes). >From what I can see in '/usr/lib/jvm/java-7-openjdk-amd64/include', the headers from the 'libx11-dev' & 'libxt-dev' packages (<X11/Xlib.h>, <X11/Xutil.h>, <X11/Intrinsic.h>) are used for AWT JNI functions only. If it's not a widely-used feature, then, IMHO, X11 development packages shouldn't be installed by default, so wouldn't it be better to move 'libxt-dev' from recommends to suggests? -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.14-2-amd64 (SMP w/2 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_GB.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_GB.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages openjdk-7-jdk depends on: ii libc6 2.19-7 ii libx11-6 2:1.6.2-2 ii openjdk-7-jre 7u65-2.5.1-4 Versions of packages openjdk-7-jdk recommends: pn libxt-dev <none> Versions of packages openjdk-7-jdk suggests: pn openjdk-7-demo <none> pn openjdk-7-source <none> pn visualvm <none> -- no debconf information ---- Best wishes, Bob -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
