Hi! I've uploaded a Debian package of netatalk 3.1.3 to github:
https://github.com/adiknoth/netatalk-debian I have no personal interest in maintaining this package, so please just grab it and co-maintain it in pkg-netatalk-devel. I didn't bother to include the spotlight indexer, so maybe have a look at http://netatalk.sourceforge.net/wiki/index.php/Install_Netatalk_3.1.3_on_Debian_7_Wheezy and add the (two?) missing build dependencies. Since we're nearing the freeze, I'd go for netatalk2 + netatalk3 in jessie, later maybe dropping netatalk2. People really want/need netatalk3, since it turns a Linux server into a time machine. If you ask me: Let's not ship another release without netatalk3, it's embarrassing.
