Subject: /usr/bin/man: Search command not working with pager more Package: man-db Version: 2.6.7.1-1 File: /usr/bin/man Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer, I installed Jessie using the daily amd64 netinstaller snapshot 20140803-04:28. In the Xfce terminal searching within a man page is not possible anymore. The search pattern, which exists in the man page, is not highlighted with the "more "pager and after pressing several times the "n" key the man page program quits with the error message "Pattern not found". Installing the "less" pager resolves the problem. -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Kernel: Linux 3.14-2-amd64 (SMP w/8 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=de_AT.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=de_AT.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages man-db depends on: ii bsdmainutils 9.0.5 ii debconf [debconf-2.0] 1.5.53 ii dpkg 1.17.10 ii groff-base 1.22.2-6 ii libc6 2.19-7 ii libgdbm3 1.8.3-13 ii libpipeline1 1.3.0-1 ii zlib1g 1:1.2.8.dfsg-1 man-db recommends no packages.
