Package: arpwatch
Version: 2.1a15-1.2
Severity: important

Dear Maintainer,

This is very similar to an old bug reported here:
https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=240399

   * What led up to the situation?

I upgraded my arpwatch machine from squeeze to wheezy.

   * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or
     ineffective)?

I have a machine with a trunk port on it whose sole purpose is to listen
for arpwatch and ndpmon data on various vlans. It has no addresses
assigned and that is intentional.

   * What was the outcome of this action?

arpwatch under squeeze works on vlan interfaces without addresses
assigned, it does not any more, but instead fails with the following
message:

"arpwatch: bad interface vlan14: vlan14: no IPv4 address assigned - assuming
unconfigured interface"

   * What outcome did you expect instead?

If I reinstall the squeeze package via "dpkg -i" I do not have this issue.

Let me know if you need any more details.

Thanks,
Brian
