Package: gemrb-planescape-torment Version: 0.8.0-1 Severity: minor Hi,
I just bought PS:T on gog.com and thought I'd use gemrb to play it instead of relying on wine. I noticed the following four initial problems: 1. the gemrb-planescape-torment package is missing a README file After having installed gemrb-planescape-torment I was at a loss of what to do next. I did not see any README or other documentation being shipped in /usr/share/doc. Having such a file would greatly improve the usability of this package. 2. ~/.gemrb/planescape-torment.cfg is not used The only "documentation" seems to be the file in examples/planescape-torment.cfg which at the top says "Copy this file to ~/.gemrb/planescape-torment.cfg". Unfortunately, even after having created the ~/.gemrb directory and copied the file over, its contents are ignored. Instead, the contents of /etc/gemrb/planescape-torment.cfg are used. It should be the other way round. 3. could you add a comment in planescape-torment.cfg for the gog install? I do not know how the file layout is for other installations but when playing from a gog installation, then the variables CD1-CD6 in planescape-torment.cfg do have to point to the ./data directory instead. A small comment in that file to point that out would've saved me some time. 4. resolutions other than 640x480 are broken When choosing any other resolution than 640x480 I end up with flickering and unusable dialog windows in the game. It would be great if a comment in planescape-torment.cfg could either point out that one should not change these values or what else must be done so that the game becomes playable with higher resolutions. Thank you for your consideration! cheers, josch -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing APT policy: (990, 'testing'), (500, 'unstable'), (1, 'experimental') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.14-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash Versions of packages gemrb-planescape-torment depends on: ii gemrb 0.8.0-1 ii gemrb-planescape-torment-data 0.8.0-1 gemrb-planescape-torment recommends no packages. gemrb-planescape-torment suggests no packages. -- no debconf information -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
