Hi Paul, Michael, sorry for the late reply. I finally looked into this, and I realized that I’m missing context/time to test and investigate deeper.
My vague idea is that we should mask sockets before the upgrade and unmask them after. Not quite sure when the proper point in time (in maintscript-world) is for both, though. This probably also entails adding a new autoscript and special-casing .socket files. Since I don’t have much time these days, I’d appreciate it if either: 1) One of you provided a patch directly. 2) One of you explained in detail how the new autoscripts should look like. I.e., manually modify a package in the way you think dh-systemd should do it in order to properly stop sockets.
