Hello Alexander, > None of the manual and documentation bits for mpd mention that > http_proxy from the environment is used if no http_proxy_host is set > in the conffile. it should also mention that the only way to make mpd > ignore the envvar is to explicitely set a blank http_proxy_host in > mpd.conf.
do you have a suggestion where exactly this should be mentioned, and perhaps even suggest a wording? The $http_proxy envvar is a feature of curl completely independent from mpd, and hence duely described in curl's manpage. I suppose it was once set on purpose and with knowledge of its effects, but fail to imagine why it should then be improper for mpd to honour; and as you didn't just set curl proxy variables in mpd's config, mentioning it there probably wouldn't have helped, no?
