Package: mate Version: MATE Desktop Environment 1.8.1 / xscreensaver 5.26 Severity: normal
Dear Maintainer, *** Reporter, please consider answering these questions, where appropriate *** * What led up to the situation? I wanted to try out the Mate desktop environment and have used xfce and lxde up to that point. After installing MATE Core via Synaptic I found that the screensaver didn't start automatically anymore. * What exactly did you do (or not do) that was effective (or ineffective)? I used System / Preferences / Screensaver (Mate menu) to reconfigure the screensaver. It warned that the XScreenSaver daemon doesn't seem to be running on display ":0.0" and offered to start it, which I did. It did not configure the demon to start automatically at the next login, though. I then added /usr/bin/xscreensaver to the list of autostart applications in System / Control Center / Startup Applications. *** End of the template - remove these template lines *** -- System Information: Debian Release: jessie/sid APT prefers testing-updates APT policy: (500, 'testing-updates'), (500, 'testing') Architecture: amd64 (x86_64) Foreign Architectures: i386 Kernel: Linux 3.14-1-amd64 (SMP w/4 CPU cores) Locale: LANG=en_US.UTF-8, LC_CTYPE=en_US.UTF-8 (charmap=UTF-8) Shell: /bin/sh linked to /bin/dash -- To UNSUBSCRIBE, email to debian-bugs-dist-requ...@lists.debian.org with a subject of "unsubscribe".
