Installing golang-mode causes this error:

    ERROR: golang-mode is broken - called emacs-package-install as a new-style 
add-on, but has no compat file.

Also, upon loading the mode, Emacs complains:
    `flet' is an obsolete macro (as of 24.3); use either `cl-flet' or `cl-letf'.
